From a link supplied by the consistently excellent 2bangkok.com, here are a few 100-year old predictions for the year 2000 first published in the December 1900 edition of the The Ladies Home Journal.

My personal favourites: strawberries as large as apples, and the removal from the English alphabet of the letters C, X and Q.

Go figure…
